Technology changes.
We have followed it from the beginning.

Since 1989, we have been exploring, adopting and applying technologies for technical security and protection systems.

01

Since 1989, one step ahead of technology

Since 1989, we have been working with technologies that make people, companies and buildings safer. Over more than three decades, we have witnessed major changes in technical security — from the first simple alarm systems and analogue communication solutions to today’s intelligent, networked and fully integrated security systems.

Our approach has remained the same: we want to understand new technology before we offer it to a customer.

Over the years, we were among the early adopters in the region of technologies that later became standard: advanced intrusion alarm systems, digital communication, remote monitoring, IP video surveillance, wireless security devices, access control, mobile applications and the integration of different systems into one security solution.

For us, innovation has never meant installing something simply because it is new. New technology only makes sense when it is reliable, practical and provides a real advantage to the user.

That is why our experience since 1989 is more than a number of years. It represents thousands of technical decisions, installations, tests, problems solved and technologies we have followed from their earliest stages to today’s generations.

Today, security technology is changing faster than ever. Alarm systems are connected to cloud services, mobile devices, video surveillance, building automation and other digital platforms. This is why we believe the combination of long experience and readiness to adopt new technologies matters more than ever.

Technology changes. Our curiosity about it remains the same.

Technical security is not a product. It is a system.

Security rarely depends on a single device. A good detector, a high-quality camera or a modern alarm control panel may be important parts of a solution, but none of them alone creates a good technical security system.

What matters most is how individual elements are selected, positioned, connected and adapted to the real needs of the building and the people who use it. After more than three decades in the field, we have learned that two apparently similar sites can require completely different security solutions.

That is why we look at technical security as a whole. Intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, event reporting, communications, remote monitoring and building automation may perform different functions, but they create the greatest value when they work together.

A good system is not necessarily the one with the largest number of devices. A well-designed solution uses as much technology as necessary, where it makes sense, while remaining simple for the user in everyday life.

We also think about what happens after installation: how the system will be maintained, whether it can be expanded later and whether individual components can be replaced without rebuilding the entire solution. Those questions are often more important than one product specification.

For us, technical security has therefore never been simply about selling equipment. It is a process in which technology, experience and a clear understanding of the real problem combine to create a system people can trust.

We adopt new technologies early — but never uncritically

New is interesting. Reliable new is useful.

New technology has always interested us. Over the years we have followed the transition from analogue to digital communications, the rise of wireless security systems, IP networks, high-resolution video surveillance, mobile applications, cloud services, building automation and, increasingly, artificial intelligence.

But the fact that a technology is new has never been enough reason for us to recommend it. In security, experimentation has limits. A system has to work exactly when it is needed, often after months or years in which the user barely thinks about it.

We therefore look at every new technology through a few simple questions: does it solve a real problem, is it reliable, does it deliver a measurable benefit, can it be maintained and integrated, and does it make security simpler rather than merely adding another layer of technology?

Wireless communications, cloud platforms and mobile applications now make possible things that were difficult to imagine a few decades ago. A user can check a property from another city or country, receive event information, view a camera or control part of the system.

Artificial intelligence is changing how systems process information as well. Instead of merely recording an event, systems can increasingly help interpret what is happening. These capabilities are extremely useful — when they are applied correctly.

Our attitude to new technology is therefore both enthusiastic and cautious. We want to understand what is coming early, but only when it creates real value for the user does it become part of a solution we can recommend.

From a stand-alone alarm to a connected security ecosystem

The first alarm systems had a relatively simple task: detect an event and activate a siren or transmit a signal to a remote location. Today’s security systems operate in a completely different technological environment.

An alarm is no longer necessarily a stand-alone device. It can communicate with video surveillance, access control, a user’s phone, cloud services, building automation and many other systems. One event can therefore trigger a whole sequence of predefined actions.

The value is no longer only in individual components, but in the information they exchange. This development has created enormous possibilities, but also a new type of complexity.

When systems are connected, it is important to understand not only what each one does, but what happens when they communicate. Network infrastructure, communication methods, user permissions, service availability, data security and system behaviour when part of the connection is unavailable all matter.

That is why experience with several generations of technology becomes particularly valuable. Technology changes, but the basic questions remain remarkably similar: what are we protecting, from which risk, how will we identify an event and to whom will we deliver the information?

Today we are no longer talking only about alarms. We are talking about a connected security ecosystem in which different technologies work together, while our task remains the same: make the system reliable, understandable and useful to the person who relies on it.

More than 35 years of experience — available through consulting

Sometimes the most valuable part of a security system is the decision made before the first device is purchased.

In addition to technology, we provide professional consulting in technical security and security systems.

More than 35 years in this industry means we have followed several generations of equipment, different manufacturers, communication technologies, security concepts and the way solutions behave after years of real use. That experience can be especially valuable before an important technical or investment decision is made.

Consulting can begin with a very simple question: is the solution being proposed really right for this site? It can also involve defining a system concept, assessing an existing installation, planning modernization, migrating from older technology, selecting a platform, comparing alternative solutions or preparing technical requirements for contractors and suppliers.

We can assist investors, designers, installers and end users who need an independent technical opinion before they commit to a decision. Long-term thinking is particularly important.

The lowest initial price does not necessarily mean the lowest total cost. A system that looks simple today can become expensive if it is difficult to maintain, extend or integrate. Conversely, there is sometimes no reason to replace good existing infrastructure simply because a new product generation has appeared.

Good consulting therefore does not start with a product catalogue. It starts with understanding the problem. More than 35 years of experience is not only our history — it is knowledge we can make available to your project.

Reliability matters more than specifications on paper

Technical specifications matter. Resolution, range, communication speed, capacity, number of zones, protocols and other characteristics help us compare products. But a data sheet never tells the whole story.

In security systems, some of the most important characteristics only become visible after months or years of use. How does the device cope with everyday operation? How often does it need attention? How does it behave when communication conditions are imperfect? How easy is a problem to diagnose? Are spare parts and support available?

Such information rarely fits into a catalogue. It comes from experience. Over the decades we have seen products with impressive specifications that disappointed in practice, as well as technically simpler solutions that performed reliably for years.

That is why, when selecting technology, we do not look only at what a product can do on day one. We are interested in how it will behave on day one thousand.

In technical security, reliability is not an optional luxury. It is the basic reason the system exists. A user should be able to leave a property without wondering whether the system will work.

We therefore place great value on construction quality, platform stability, manufacturer support, serviceability, compatibility and long-term sustainability. Technology can be extremely advanced, but only when it can be trusted does it become good security technology.

Jablotron and today’s generation of security systems

Technology changes. The way we choose it remains just as important.

Over more than three decades we have worked with many security technologies and seen many different approaches to alarm-system development. Jablotron has a particular place in that story.

What interests us is not only an individual device, but the way the entire system is conceived as a connected platform.

Today’s user expects reliable security but also simple operation. People do not want to think every day about protocols, networks or the technical architecture behind the system. They want clear information and a simple, secure way to manage their property.

An alarm system is no longer only a control panel, several detectors and sirens. It can form part of a broader solution connecting security, remote access, notifications, automation and other functions that make everyday life or business easier.

For professional users, the other side of the system matters just as much: good design, installation, diagnostics and maintenance. A good product has to make sense both to the person using it every day and to the specialist who must understand what happens behind the interface.

For that reason we do not judge technology only by an individual model. We are interested in the concept, the development of the platform, long-term usability and how well it answers real needs. For those who already know what they are looking for, we also provide direct access to selected products and solutions through our Jablotron Shop.
